Nintendo Wii – The Most Diverse Gaming Console In The Galaxy
We here at the Wii Showroom have researched the pros and cons of owning a Wii. I will start off by first stating why you should maybe NOT buy a Wii Console (i.e. the negative aspects). Hmmm…Hmmm…Hmmm…Pondering….Hmmm…maybe one or two small things, but definitely not worth mentioning at all.
So what is so fantastic about this gaming console that we recommend it so strongly and don’t really have anything negative to say about it I hear you ask. NINTENDO WII IS FOR EVERYONE – irrespective of whether you are a hard core 35 year old gamer still living in your old lady’s basement because of your gaming obsession or if you are a grandpa who is as scared of anything remotely technology related like someone who is allergic to bee’s, and every time you see a console you go running as if it is the mother of all bee hives. The Wii has such a diverse collection of games and is so easy, interactive and fun to play with its intuitive motion controls that everyone in the family, whether it be the hard core gamer nephew or gramps, will enjoy some or other aspect of it.
Wii Games are great fun to play either one up, with some friends or just watching grandpa showing off his boxing moves. As long as what Granpa can still string together a few combinations he will be able to show you a thing or two. Zero previous gaming experience needed – just gramps memory of his boxing skills. What I’m trying to get at is that you’ll struggle to find a console that will beat the Wii for it’s fun interactive gaming, it’s user friendliness and it’s ability to appeal too so many different generations. If you don’t enjoy it you probably also don’t like puppies, ice cream or having fun – in which case you’re a lost cause anyways, so sorry, nothing (not even 1000 free Wii games) or no-one will be able to help your grumpy ass (excuse my french, but some folks just don’t get it).
Ok, so I’m sure you would like an quick overview of some Wii Games. I will try to keep it brief so as not to bore you with too many details, but at the same time still try to give you a better understanding as to why wii (and by wii I mean we…get it… wii we wii we wii we, sorry getting a bit carried away with a lame cheesy joke hey?)…..why we are so sure that the Wii Console can be enjoyed by everyone.
Just about any game you can think of will probably already be available in Wii’s awesome collection of games. From skateboarding to golfing, racing to fishing, yoga to karate, the legendary Mario Bros and just too many more to mention. There is definitely a game available for everyone in the Wii collection and too many to mention here (please refer to the Wii Showroom game pages after reading this article to check out some of the best games available). In my favourite game, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Mario’s spinning action with outstretched fists allows him to pummel his enemies and also Cue Star Rings that launches him through various must see galaxies as he searches for the Princess. Some of the older generation will however probably not find this game as easy to play as some of the other games, but for everyone else Super Mario Galaxy is an absolute must. There is also a great variety of other Mario games available ranging from Mario Party to Super Mario Bros.
All good parties have music right? If that’s indeed true, then the next family get together does not necessarily have to be boring, as long as you have Wii Guitar Hero 5. You can have family members singing their own rock songs or you can do some family bonding and jam together as a band depending on how many instrument controllers you have purchased. Uncle Sid (or whatever his name is) can do his favourite (and probably ridiculously hillarious) Mick Jagger impression when he sings a Rolling Stones tune. WARNING: Neither ourselves nor Nintendo will be held liable for any “pain & suffering” caused to your ears by Uncle Sid’s voice, which probably sounds more like a cat’s mating call in the middle of the night than Mick Jagger. Handing the microphone to every Tom, Dick and Harry is entirely at your own risk. However, get the family involved in this game and lots of fun and laughter is definitely on the cards!
We definitely also need to quickly mention Wii Fit. Now you’ll probabbly think I’m crazy, but thanks to Wii exercising has become a whole lot more fun than it use to be? For some or other reason though exercise becomes a whole lot more fun when playing an interactive game that is in essence actually a type of exercise simulation. You’ll be of the couch in no time as you tackle the balance board while trying to play many of the exercise themed games like skateboarding, aerobics, rhythm kung fu or boxing to but name a few of the games available. Just by playing a few games you’ll be working up a sweat, you heart will be getting some exercise and Mr.Couch Potatoe will be no more as you start exercising while you are gaming. However, just like the skateboarding exercise won’t miracously turn you into the next Tony Hawk, so Wii Fit won’t transform you into a super athlete but you’ll be exercising and having fun….no, I’m not kidding….exercise while you’re having fun. Impossible? Just give it a shot Mr.Couch Potatoe.
Another factor that not everyone always considers when it comes to gaming, but is very important to me personally is time limitation. Where does one find time to really learn all the ins and outs of a complicated game so that you can actually complete it. Most of us just don’t have time to become hard core gamers. With work, family responsibilities, studying, functions, exercising because we have to (health), doing groceries, shopping, rushing here and there etc. etc. etc…..all most of us non hard core gamers want, is a user friendly gaming console to relax with that is not over the top in terms of difficulty (but not ridiculously easy either). Nintendo Wii Games provides all of that with the added bonus of being able to provide an awesome interactive social experience. But don’t be fooled though, this is no Mickey Mouse Gaming Console. It is just able to connect with people who have different levels of gaming experience whether it be your first time playing or game number 1000. This more than likely makes Wii the best all round console available in the gaming world today.
Irrespective of what other gaming console fans say, The Nintendo Wii is still the most user friendly gaming option around for the avergae man in the street. Then is one more small matter that proves it’s not just us who thinks the Wii is awesome…..Nintendo Wii remains the fastest selling console in the history of the gaming industry and that says it all. The facts are the facts, whether the sceptics like it or not the numbers don’t lie. More than 75 million Wii Consoles have already been sold and we are convinced millions more will follow. Whether you will ever experience this magnificent social gaming console is of course entirely up to you. Nintendo Wii is truly for you, and me, and everyone out there who wants to enjoy gaming.. So go and get it and join in the fun?
